Bio: I am the author of Lost: A Search for Meaning and MySpace to Sacred
Space: God for a New Generation, which I coauthored with my wife, Amy Piatt.
We also coauthored Chalice Press’s Lenten Meditation booklet for 2008.
I am a managing editor for PULP, an independent alt-monthly publica-
tion for southern Colorado, and I’m a series cocreator and coeditor of the new
WTF? (Where’s the Faith?) book series for Chalice Press, along with Brandon
Gilvin. I’m also creator and editor of the Banned Questions series.
I speak, preach, and facilitate workshops nationally on congregational
transformation, young adult spirituality, church and technology, faith and
culture, and postmodern spirituality. I consult with religious and educational
