Five Things to Do to Make the World a Better Place
- Adopt a pet from a rescue organization. It’s possible to get purebred
animals without going to a breeder... I did! - Go outside your comfort zone and attend another religion’s services
or volunteer for an organization that is in your community but serves
people who are different from you. - Be nice! When you take out your temporary anger or frustration on some
hapless bystander, you’ve ruined part of their day, too. Who exactly did
that help? - Take a breath and ask yourself how your decisions will affect other
people before you make the decision. - You know what you do well: cooking or talking or writing or shopping
or gardening or whatever. Find someone who needs your skill set and
volunteer to share it with an organization that could use the help. And
spend some time looking for a small, local group that doesn’t have access
to the resources of the huge aid organizations.
