What does this look like for a morning routine?
Let’s break it down into ridiculously little steps, as if we
are teaching space aliens what they need to do:



  1. Set alarm before getting into bed.

  2. Turn off alarm when it rings.

  3. Get out of bed.

  4. Brush your teeth.

  5. Get dressed.

  6. Make a pot of coffee.

  7. Drink coffee.

  8. Read Bible and pray.

  9. Do a one- minute plank.

  10. Write down three things that need to happen today.

  11. Write down how long each should take.

  12. Write down when the three things will get done.

  13. Take a goofy or unflattering picture.

  14. Text a friend the goofy picture so she can post it to
    social media if the steps don’t get done.


Work on one tiny habit each week and share it with some-
one. For one week, make setting your alarm a little early your
focus, until you’re itching to move on. Then set the alarm, and
make getting out of bed your tiny habit for the next week. And,
yes, all you need to do is set your alarm and get out of bed. You
can get right back in if you want to. Crazy, I know. But try it.
You’ll actually love it. Having the willpower to get out but then
knowing you can get right back in guilt- free is awesome.
