Call to Action

try to determine whether I could qualify in some obscure sum-
mer or winter sport in either the US or the Philippines.
It doesn’t matter (or occur) to me that I’ve never played the
sport. Or that there are no winter sports in Central Texas. It
doesn’t matter that my chances are one in a million.
It’s possible, and that possibility thrills me. That possibility,
however absurd, has kept me in shape the past forty years
on the off chance the Olympic snowboarding team will call
and say they need a scrawny Asian woman to round out their
roster.
Do You Believe?
The Bible says that with God, all things are possible
(Matt. 19:26). Do you believe that anything is possible in your
life? Do you believe God can— and wants to— do important
things in and through you?
I know. Sometimes life feels humdrum, and days slowly
roll by. But the fact is that each one of us has something mean-
ingful to accomplish in life that no one else can. God created
us uniquely to fulfill a specific story in this world.
Your life matters. No matter how small, insignificant,
unorganized, or visionless you feel, there never has been anyone
like you, and there never ever will be. God is not a redundant
creator. And whether you recognize it or not, there are people
you’re meant to love. You have lives to influence, words to
speak, work to do, truth to share, and peace to offer.
Maybe the person you encourage today will be the person
who speaks the very same hope into someone else’s darkness
