- In Luke 18, Jesus told us about the persistent widow
who pleaded with the judge day and night until he
relented. And then He encouraged us to be steadfast in
our prayer. - Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing
good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we
do not give up.” - Second Thessalonians 3:13 reads, “And as for you,
brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.” - James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the one who perseveres
under trial because, having stood the test, that person
will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised
to those who love him.”
We are not only building the habit of meeting with God
each day; we are also being persistent in our pursuit of Him.
Homecoming
My daughter Allison is twelve, going on thirty- nine. She plays
tennis, loves to bake, and reads incessantly. The other day I
walked out of my office and saw her on her school iPad. She
quickly clicked away from what she was doing. What had she
stumbled upon while using her less- restricted- than- we’d- like
school device?
I sat down and asked to see what she’d been watching. With
a sheepish look, she opened the YouTube app. The sidebar was
filled with videos. She looked at me and said, “I watch them
whenever I have free time.” They were soldier- homecoming
