How Do We Revive Hope?
We can change our thinking and believe again in a life filled
with hope and the possibility of good things to come.
Let’s start by looking at the definition of possible: “able
to be done; within the power or capacity of someone or
something.”^1
Scripture says, “With God, all things are possible”
(Matt. 19:26).
Bingo!
If we want to revive possibility, restore hope, and believe
we can still change and grow, we need to be with God, be
renewed inwardly by Him day after day (2 Cor. 4:16). We
need to start each morning with the One who makes even the
impossible— possible.
You may have heard this before: Start your day with a
“quiet time.” Read your Bible. Pray. Maybe you’ve been able
to do it for a while, but life always seems to get in the way. You
know you “need” to do it. You might even carry guilt about all
the times you’ve tried and failed.
But just as we know we “need” to eat more kale, sleep eight
hours, and floss every single day, knowing we need to do some-
thing and actually doing it are two very different things. It’s a
little like knowing we need to be able to read and actually learn-
ing to read. We learn lessons and build habits along the way. I’ll
share more about those lessons and habits later, but right now
my hope is that this book will ignite an undeniable sense of pur-
pose within you. That every morning will feel like Christmas
morning because you see the hope and possibility in each new
day. That you believe you can live an exceptional life with God.
