The Word of God

Spirit, give me from your abundance,
Father, give me of your wisdom,
Son, give to me in my need.^327

Set reading

I bind to myself this day
the mighty strength of the Trinity;
calling on his name
in faith of the threeness,
and confession of the oneness
of the Creator of all things.
I bind to myself this day
the strength of Christ’s birth and his baptism,
the strength of his crucifixion and his burial,
the strength of his resurrection and his ascension,
the strength of his return for judgment day.^328

Prayer

I pray for myself and for those dear to me......
I am bending my knee
in the eye of the Father who created me,
in the eye of the Son who died for me,
in the eye of the Spirit who cleansed me,
in love and desire.
Pour down from heaven
the rich blessing of your forgiveness.
You who are highest in the Holy City,
be patient with us.
