The Word of God

Father of Wisdom, teach me to adore all your ways though I cannot
grasp them: teach me to be glad that you are King and to give thanks
in every circumstance, since you have chosen it and can set it to work
for my good. And for the future, give me grace to do what pleases
you and then, with absolute submission to your wisdom, to leave the
issues in your hand. Amen.^270

Lord, you emptied yourself of your eternal glory and took the form of
a servant. Everything was made to serve and praise you, but you did
not please yourself, you became the servant of all. Lord of heaven and
earth, you offered your cheeks to be struck, your back to be scourged
and your hands and feet to be nailed to a cross. My Lord and God, let
me not presume to be above my Master, Jesus Christ; let it be the one
desire of my heart to imitate him; not to do my own will, but the will
of the one who sends me. Amen.^271
