TO MAKE UP
BLOCKING
Wet-block the body and shoulder panel
pieces to the measurements shown on
the schematic, and following any yarn
care instructions on the ball band.
Steam-blocking will not achieve the
desired results for this step. When blocking
the body, make sure you accurately pin out
the inverse V of the apex on the front panel
and keep the shoulder seams angled on the
back panel.

SEAMING SHOULDER PANELS
Position the shoulder panels so that the
narrower ends form the bases of your
sleeves and the wider ends form the V-neck
of the sweater. In the back, seam each
shoulder panel to the back piece from
sl e e ve e d ge to n e c k l i n e, wh i c h i s ma rke d

on the back with a removable stitch
marker. Stretch the back or sleeve panel as
needed to match their lengths while
seaming.
On the front piece, measure 4cm away
from the tip of the inverted V on each
side (along the edge of the V) and place
removable markers at these points.
Seam each shoulder panel to the front,
from the sleeve edge to the removable
marker, stretching the front or sleeve
panel as needed to match their lengths.
(T h e u n s e a m e d p or t ion s of t h e V w i l l b e
joined with neck ribbing later.)

COLLAR
With RS facing, starting at removable mrk
on right front (at beg of right shoulder
panel), pick up and knit sts across cast-off
edge of right shoulder panel. (Do not pick
up sts along the inverted V of the front
body!) Pick up and knit about 1 st for every
b ou n d- of f s t i n t h e p u rl s e c t ion s of t h e
shoulder panel and about 6 sts for every
‘cable column’ - about 80 ( 80 :80: 80 :80:
94 :94) sts.

Pick up and knit 14 sts along the back neck,
then pick up and knit the same number of
sts for the second shoulder panel as you did
for the first - about 174 ( 174 :174: 174 :174:
202 :202) total sts.
Turn to work a WS row and P to end.
Work flat in 2x2 ribbing for 4cm - about
12 rows.
Cast off loosely in pattern.

Seam the vertical edges of the collar
ribbing to the inverted V of the centre
front, meeting them at the point.

SLEEVES
(make 2)
Starting at the underarm seam, pick up
and knit 78 ( 78 :80: 80 :80: 94 :94) sts around
armhole.
Pm and join for working in the round.
Work in st st for 9 rnds.

Dec rnd: K 3, K 2 to g, k n it to l a s t 5 s t s, S S K,
K3.
Work in st st and repeat Dec rnd every 9th
rnd 9 more times.
58 ( 58 :60: 60 :60: 74 :74) sts.
Work in 2x2 ribbing for 12 rnds.
Cast off loosely in pattern.

FINISHING
Steam-block your finished sweater to relax
the seams and lengthen the arms.

The V neck is
gently scooped
at the back
