Like a (very elegant) pig in clover
Well this is super pretty. Weekly yoga classes are held
at the Clover Mill, near Malvern. Classes can be taken
in the warm old mill loft - and classes on a Saturday
come with healthy cake afterwards. Bonus points!
Gentle hatha yoga is the order of the day, as are
ayurvedic techniques and wonderful natural views, all
designed to make this a super relaxing option. If you
are after a little more than a class, the Mill also runs
retreats in five-star eco accommodation. On warm
bright days, you can take your practice down to the
lake, to fully immerse yourself in nature.

Tales of the riverbank
Set in the pretty village of Bascote in the rolling Warwickshire countryside sits
the Serenity Barn. This tranquil spot not only has some beautiful views but all
mod cons to make for an altogether more relaxing experience. Say farewell
to cold village hall lino and say hello to underfloor heating, which makes the
corpse position the one to really look forward to. Serene and soothing as this
undoubtedly is, if you feel like ramping things up a notch, the intrepid Amy Bell
also teaches yoga on a paddleboard. I tried this myself and floating past the
ducks and occasional heron was really rather wonderful; and considering what
we were doing, surprisingly relaxing. The views along the river from the boat
house in Leamington Spa are just delightful. Best for strengthening your core
and standing firm, wayward branches allowing.

Ship ahoy
A sun salutation first thing seems only right and proper.
How about practicing yoga 138ft up with the mighty Thames
rushing beneath you? At 7.30am on select days intrepid
souls can climb up to the Tower Bridge walkways and have a
jaw-dropping view whilst they touch their toes. Just a chunk
of glass stands between you and the river. If you are really
lucky you may catch the bridge’s famous raising bascules
(which is the moving bit to you and me!). Classes sell out
quickly, so keep an eye on the website for updates.
