Y

oga instructor Aminta Gagnon likes to take her
classes outdoors whenever possible. In the summer,
that means soaking up the good prana energy as she
and her students get their stretch on. “Being outside
is so beneficial for your yoga practice,” she says. This
year, the Hertfordshire-based teacher hosted her first outdoor
colour yoga session in June to celebrate the summer solstice; it
meant lots of wild paint throwing and crazy fun, amid all the sun
salutations and other yoga moves. But there are plenty of other
ways to spice up your outdoor yoga practice too – from beer
yoga through to glow in the dark yoga. It’s all good fun for Aminta
Gagnon and her motley band of students. Find her on Facebook:

Life’s better outside

Beer yoga
Aminta Gagnon also teaches outdoor beer
yoga at Hitchin lavender fields, a beautiful
backdrop to a blissful (and boozy!) practice.

Glow in the dark yoga
Yes, it’s summer but eventually night
must fall...so why not electrify things
with a glow in the dark practice!

Outdoor colour yoga
Reminiscent of India’s famous Festival of
Colours, Hertfordshire got its own vibrant
outdoor colour yoga session last month.
