nearly led to nuclear war. Future U.S. Sen. John Glenn
orbited the earth. Army veteran James Meredith became the first
African-American enrolled at the University of Mississippi.
The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, and Peter, Paul and Mary released
debut albums, while Marilyn Monroe sang “Happy Birthday”
to President John F. Kennedy.
