This pose stretches the hips and groin.
Risks and Contraindications
This pose is contraindicated for those with hernias. It can be modi ed if
you have knee pain.
Alignment Points


  • Begin on all fours and spread the knees wider than the hips.

  • Flex the feet and spread the feet wider than the knees.

  • Lower the forearms to the mat and place the elbows under the
    shoulders. Either place the hands on the mat and spread the palms,
    or interlace the  ngers.

  • Press the hips back and tilt the tailbone forward.

  • Keep the shoulders soft and draw the crown of the head forward.
    Gaze toward the  oor, keeping the cervical spine aligned with the
    rest of the spine.
