- Lift the gaze toward the ceiling, keeping the cervical spine in align-
ment with the rest of the spine. - If you have enough exibility in the back and enough stability in the
pose, you may release the hands to the heels.
Modi cations and Other Options
- If you have knee pain, sensitivity, or injury, use a folded blanket un-
der the knees for support. - If you are close to placing the hands on the heels but still straining,
tuck the toes under to elevate the heels. If there is still strain, then
return the hands to the lower back. - For a one-armed camel, place your right hand on top of the right
heel and reach the left arm toward the sky (1). Repeat on the other
side. Tuck the toes under to modify.
