steadfast humility, and demanding compassion. These deep moods and feelings disclose shared humanity and bring the transcendent divine into awareness and experience. On the basis of a well-formed conscience, grounded in religious moods and feelings, theological humanism calls for a
willingness to act for the common good expressed in the integrity of life. Such a path will help to ensure a human future. It is a life of spiritual integrity.


This chapter has sought to engage the debate about religion in current pluralistic and moderns societies like the United States. We have shown how Conclusion
