What is your plan for outdoor fitness this spring?

Karen Henry

Although assisting during a photo
shoot is quite a workout, I’m plan-
ning to take advantage of Mam-
moth's late season precipitation to
go snowboarding!

I plan on riding my bike and
hiking in Southern California and
Oregon with my wife Pam and my
dog Coby.

This spring I really want to start
rock climbing outdoors. I love
indoor climbing, but I am looking
forward to being out in nature as
much as possible.

Surfing! I started surfing two sum-
mers ago and am looking for an
instructor to help me work on my
skills so I can hit the bigger waves.

My favorite outdoor activity in the
spring is hiking. Living in Los Angeles,
I have many beautiful hiking options
and the added benefit of sitting in

silence or meditation. With recent
rain, the views on the hiking trails are
spectacular.

I would like to resume my morning
walks by the Ocean. For 20 years, I
would run five miles per day and I miss
that exhilaration. I would also like to
ride a bike more especially through
the Marina, Venice, and even Santa
Monica. Oh, and there’s also yoga on
the Santa Monica Pier and outdoor
yoga at Treasure Island Park in front of
the Montage in Laguna Beach.
