Where I Pick Up LA Yoga


When Nature enthusiast and yoga teacher
Kelly Lane (kellylayneyoga.com) isn’t working
at her day job in the television industry, she
picks up LA YOGA at Heal and Soul Tai Chi
and Yoga Studio in Encino (healandsoul.com).
Kelly takes the studio’s aerial yoga classes and
she loves the community get-togethers the
studio hosts including hikes, beach yoga, and
pizza and movie nights.

Other than being a Cartwheel
Queen, my daily habits are
based in love! I start there,
writing morning pages before
practicing my am yoga DVD. I
make a celery, cucumber, or
green juice, and walk my dog.
Twice weekly, I work out with
a friend with her trainer; the
group session motivates both
of us. I stick to a pretty clean
diet with lots of green leafy
vegetables. If I’m lucky, I cap
off the day with my pm yoga
video for the best night’s sleep!

To maintain my own health
and wellness, I practice
meditation on a regular basis.
I also think it’s important to
have some time in the sun
(Vitamin D and happiness).
Daily I enjoy sipping on matcha
green tea and I make sure to
laugh and smile throughout the
day. Fortunately, my passion is
also my hobby and my work
(hair and makeup) so I can do
what I love.

Upon waking, I prepare a cup
of hot water which I sip on
as I make my way into my
bedroom closet. I cleared out
this space and converted it into
my meditation sanctuary. The
feeling of being in a protected
cocoon helps me dive deep into
the blissful realm of spiritual
communion. These simple acts
aid in my well-being and set
the tone for compassionate
care-giving throughout the day.

I begin my day with spa water.
Then I have a green drink
with spinach or kale, seasonal
fruit, and superfood powder.
My practice of Kundalini
Yoga is essential since it brings
me balance and harmony in
my daily life. In addition,
I love incorporating Daily
Affirmations in my morning;
I usually choose one from A
Course in Miracles and I listen
to it while driving. I also love
to listen to the album White
Sun II by Grammy Award-
winners White Sun.
