The Attention Academy® Program offers
classes, workshops, and seminars on
developing attention skills for students,
teachers, and parents. The program mixes
mindfulness and relaxation. The mission
of The Attention Academy® Program is
to help students improve their quality of
life through practicing mindfulness. The
goal of the program is to help students
learn to (a) increase their attention to the
present experience, (b) approach each
experience without judgment, and (c) view
each experience as novel and new with a
“beginner’s eye.” There is some research
support (Weare, 2013).

The Growing Minds curricula is rooted in the
areas of self-awareness, self-management,
social awareness, relationship skills, and
responsible decision-making. Lessons are
broken into themes: sustained attention, self-
awareness and impulse control, and social
awareness and relationship skills.

ibme.info/ A nonprofit that offers in-depth mindfulness
programming for young adults, adolescents,
and the parents and professionals who support
them. The program develops self-awareness,
compassion, and ethical decision-making, and
empowers participants to apply these skills in
improving their lives and communities. They
offer staff training prior to and experiential
training during retreat. Teen retreats are held
in the summer and during school breaks;
student retreats are held during the school
year.
Lineage Project http://www.lineageproject.org The Lineage Project offers mindfulness
practices for youth at risk. The program
utilizes yoga and meditation techniques with
disenfranchised youth in New York City to
help break the cycle of poverty, violence, and
incarceration. Workshops and training are
offered.

This is a rehabilitation program designed
to meet the social and emotional needs of
highly at-risk youth. The curriculum utilizes a
universal class structure that includes periods
of check-ins, meditation practice, and group
discussion.
