Lineage
Project
lineageproject.org The Lineage Project offers mindfulness practices
for youth at risk (grades 6 to 12). Founded by
Soren Gordhamer, the program utilizes yoga and
meditation techniques with disenfranchised youth
in New York City to help break the cycle of poverty,
violence, and incarceration. They offer programs
in detention centers, alternative-to-incarceration
programs, alternative schools, subsidized housing,
and other community sites. Workshops and
trainings are offered. The teacher training is a
20-hour program that prepares teachers to use
mindfulness and yoga techniques in their communities
and schools.
