TRAVEL & CULTURE: WHY WE LOVE KINGSTON

DWAYNE BROWN

Confederation Park
Located on the waterfront, across
from City Hall, Confederation Park
is a gathering place for tourists and
locals alike. Grab lunch or dinner
nearby and head over for an evening
stroll; there are often musicians
and bands playing, or other events
happening, and it’s the place to go
if you’re planning on spending
Canada Day in Kingston.

Frontenac Club
Located in the heart of Kingston’s
historic downtown, just steps
from the waterfront, Frontenac
Club is the perfect place to stay
while in town. The boutique hotel
offers spacious rooms in what
was once a bank, then a men’s
club whose membership included
prime ministers and Indigenous
founding members. Erected in 1845,
the limestone building has been
undergoing renovations under its
new ownership, including updates
to its rooms, but one thing we hope
remains the same about this cozy
sleepover are its gracious hosts and
unbeatable gourmet breakfasts.
