Flight 1203 to New Yuck City:
Last call for boarding.Before he could say another
word, Doodlebug hollered as loud
as he could. “NOW!”
Pandemonium set in as the
students ripped off their beanies and
heaved them to the skies. There was
screaming. There was hooting and
booing and a great deal of laughter.
But it was all cut short as
Hogwobble struck an enormous
gong that hung onstage for moments
like this. The ear-splitting sound
shocked his audience into silence.
“Now you listen to me!” Hogwobble
barked at the mass of scowling students.
“I have only one thing left to say
to you fortunate children... APRIL
FOOLS!”
As the principal disappeared
backstage, Pine Nut’s student body
sat in stunned relief. Then, an
unusual sound broke the silence.
It was their principal heading back
to his office and laughing like he’d
never ever be able to stop.
