a resin kit’s nature as during
the moulding process some
parts shrinks a bit diferently.
I have to mention the Fiat
R.74 engine (and the cowl/ air
intake assembly here), which
is exceptionally beautiful. The
engine’s back and the exhaust
system are so good it is a shame
that you won’t see too much of
them at the end. But at least you
will know they are there. The
rest of the build is hassle-free.
The windshield is a very
delicate thin clear resin part,
a quick dip into Future made it
even better but the masking is
not easy as you have to mask
some really small windows.
SBS have correctly depicted

all the frames and there are a
lot of them for the small size
of a windshield. I attached it
with white glue to the fuselage
just prior the painting. I chose
the original Italian colour
scheme from the two Finnish
options in my kit, as I think
it suits this plane better.

PAINTING AND
DECALS
The upper Italian sand colour
is my own mix while the green
is a lightened RLM80 and the
lower colour is RLM76 mixed
with 10% white and a drop of
black, all from Gunze’s MR
range. My workhorse airbrush
