1 OpenVoiceRecorder

The VoiceRecorderappis partofWindows10,sopopup

the Start menuandtypevo...forit topopupasa searchresult.If

you can’t findit,trysearchingtheMicrosoftStore.Beforeyoucan

use it, you’llneeda working,compatiblemicrophonepluggedin

too – manylaptopsandtabletshavetheseasstandard,butfora

desktop systemyoumayneedtoadda USBmic.

2 Meet the app

The Voice Recorder app has a sparse interface. All you get is

a blue mic icon in the middle of the window, and an ellipsis (...)

button at the bottom right. Pop this up to get a link to the

Microphone section of the Settings app, enabling you to control

which apps have access to your mic. Apart from that, there’s little

else to do but click the big blue button to start a recording.
