7 Share a clip
The recorded messages are meant to be shared, and the
app has a dedicated button for this. It’s the furthest left of the
buttons at the bottom of the interface, and brings up its own
window in which you choose how you’d like to share. By default
only Mail and Skype are available, but if you have additional
messaging apps installed on your PC they’ll appear here, too.

8 Rename and delete a recording
Files are saved in Home > Documents > ‘Sound recordings’.
They’re given unhelpful names such as ‘Recording’ and ‘Recording
(2)’. Rename them in File Explorer and they disappear from the
Voice Recorder list, so rename them in the app using the button
second from the right at the bottom instead. You can deletefiles
either via File Explorer, or by clicking the Trash icon in the app.QQ

5
Trim a clip
The app’s sound editor enables you to trim the beginning
and end of your clips. The Save button lets you choose between
updating the original recording, or saving the trimmed version as
a new file, so it’s possible to chop several messages out of one
recording. To start, click the button next to Share at the bottom
of the window. Move the black bars inwards to trim the clip.

3 Record a message
Begin speaking into the mic. The interface changes slightly
to one with three buttons and a counter, which shows you how
long you’ve been recording for. The big blue button in the middle
stops the recording. The flag places a marker in the file you can
see when editing, useful if you need to restart, and the Pause
button pauses the recording, ready for you to start it up again.

6
All the trimmings
Any markers you put down appear on the timeline, so you
can move the trim bars to them. When you’re finished, click the
Save button (floppy disc icon) and choose either to create a new
file (save a copy), or to update the original. The latter discards
anything left outside the trim bars. A new file will have the
same name as the original, but with ‘(2)’ after it.

4 Finish your recording
Once you’ve finished speaking, stop the recording using the
blue Stop button. You’ll be returned to a version of the main app
screen, this time with your recording present on it. From here, you
can make a new recording with the blue mic button, or play your
recording back. If you’ve made several separate recordings, they’ll
be on this screen until you delete them.
