Connectivity options
The Action Centre also gives you quick access to various
connectivity options, such as turning Bluetooth on or off, and to
access nearby Wi-Fi networks. If you want to turn off everything at
once – to save your laptop’s battery, for example – click Flight
Mode, which will disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Click ‘Connect’ to
get your PC to search for wireless displays and speakers.

6
Quickly connect to a VPN
The Action Centre also enables you to connect to a Virtual
Private Network (VPN). VPNs are great if you want to safely and
securely connect to public Wi-Fi networks. They can also be used
to mask your location – handy for accessing sites and services in
other countries. Click ‘VPN’, then ‘Add a VPN connection’ and enter
the details for the VPN you’ve signed up for.

7 Activate ‘Night light’
If you’re using your PC late at night, then turn on ‘Night
light’ in the Action Centre. This tints the screen, and removes blue
light, making it more comfortable to use in dark surroundings. It
will also help you sleep better, since the blue light normally
displayed on screens can affect your natural body clock. For more
settings, type Night light into the search box in the Taskbar.

8
Customise the Action Centre
If you don’t use all of the settings the Action Centre gives
you access to, you can customise it so it only shows the icons for
settings you regularly use. To do this, type Notifications & actions
into the Taskbar search box and press [Enter]. A settings window
will open. Under ‘Quick actions’ click ‘Add or remove quick actions’.
You can then toggle the icons you want to remove off.
