The following accidents include those most recently reported in the AAIB’s July 2019 Bulletin (on their website):
G-AWGZ Taylor JT.1 Monoplane (M1 & PFA 1406). This aircraft was
part of a group of four aircraft, three Taylor JT.1s and
Evektor EV-97 G-SJES - see below – which took off from
Barcelonnette-Saint Pons, France (LFMR) on a flight to
Castelnuovo don Bosco, Italy (LILF). Having entered a
wrong valley soon after take-off, the group attempted to
turn round. G-AWGZ had insufficient height, made a
forced landing at Larche, Alpe-de-Haute Provence, but
landed heavily, bounced and overturned. Substantial
damage (French BEA report).
G-AWIR Bushby-Long Midget Mustang (PFA 1315). Crashed in
woodland near Spanhoe 21.07.19. The pilot was injured
and the aircraft sustained extensive damage to the
forward fuselage, with engine detached, to the left wing
and undercarriage (from a report on the
northantstelegrap.co.uk/news website).
