GERMANY

Serial notes – German Army Aviation
EC135T1
On 1st July 2019 an EC135T1 operated by Internationales
Hubschrauber ausbildungs zentrum (IHAZ), Bückeburg crashed near
Aerzen (Landkreis Hameln-Pyrmont). One pilot died and the other was
seriously injured.

GREECE

The US State Department approved the Foreign Military Sale of seven
MH-60R Seahawk helicopters to Greece on 12th July 2019. The
helicopters are for use by the Hellenic Navy.

Tecnam P2002JF
The final three aircraft from an order for twelve were handed over in a
ceremony at Tatoi-Dekelia 12th June 2019. The type replaces the old
Cessna T-41D aircraft.

Cessna T-41D
With the deliveries of the Tecnam P200JF now complete the hardy

IRELAND

The Irish Air Corps withdrew its FR.172H Reims Rocket fleet after 47
years service on 21st June 2019 in a ceremony held at Casement
Aerodrome, Baldonnel. The type will be replaced by three Pilatus
PC-12NGs.

ITALY

The Vigili del Fuoco (National Fire Corps) has ordered a further five
AW139 helicopters which adds to the three previously ordered
machines.

Noted during June with special markings to celebrate the 80th
anniversary of 70° Stormo, plus 50,000 flight hours of the Aermacchi

NETHERLANDS

The Dutch government has announced the purchase of additional
(eight or nine) F-35As on 17th July 2019. This adds to 37 aircraft
already ordered.

BULGARIA

On 8th July 2019 contracts were signed for the purchase of eight F-16V
Block 70 aircraft. The order comprises six single-seat and two two-seat
aircraft and was intended to replace the fleet of MiG-29s. However on
23rd July 2019 the Bulgarian president vetoed the deal due to
shortcomings concerning the contract terms.

FRANCE

The French Government is looking into the acquisition of a number of
CH-47F Chinooks for special forces use. If ordered they would
complement the H225M Caracal and NH90 Caiman helicopters
currently based at Barkhane, Mali.
The Lynx HAS.4(FN) is to be retired from French Naval Aviation
service by the middle of 2020, two years earlier than planned due high
maintenance costs. The sole operator 34 Flotille based at Lanvéoc-
Poulmic will be temporarily disbanded.

(E146)/2 c/s F-UHRR; Patrouille de France – on
25/7/19 the aircraft ran off the runway at
Aéroport Internationale Perpignan-
Rivesaltes. The pilot ejected and was taken
to hospital.
