SOUTH AMERICA

ARGENTINA

It is reported that the Argentine Government has been discussing with
Korea Aerospace Industries their offer for ten KAI FA-50 light combat
aircraft. For the purchase to be possible Argentina needs to be able to
find finance for the proposed deal which is worth $200million – with
its current debt problems it would be very difficult for the country to
borrow this money, so it would seem that the potential for KAI to
secure a deal may be quite low.
