Finnair and Juneyao Airlines opened reservations for their codeshare
partnership, commencing on 28Jun19. The new codeshare routes
include the following:

Kalitta Air [US] acquired its first B777F, serial 35607, on lease from
DAE Capital (UAE). ETOPS certification is to follow.


Kenya Airways [KQ/KQA] [Kenya] CEO Sebastian Mikosz is under
pressure from the workers union to leave the airline even before his
time lapses. He plans to go by the end of 2019.
The airline should be handed over to the State, suggests the
National Assembly’s Transport Committee, as its future ownership
continues to generate interest. Kenya’s Parliament wants Kenya
Airways’ debts shared by investors and not paid by taxpayers alone
when the nationalisation of the airline starts after adoption of the
Transport committee report.


Khabarovsk Airlines [Russia] will receive more subsidies from the
regional authorities due to its financial situation.


Kish Air [Iran] will take delivery of two aircraft, as its financial and
administrative processes are to be reviewed.


KLM Royal Dutch Airlines [KL/KLM] [Netherlands] expected the
delivery of its first B787‑10 will be later than anticipated – in early July

  • Curacao route to 01Mar20, replacing a B747‑400.
    KLM says it intends to involve Alitalia (Italy) in its trans‑Atlantic
    joint venture.
    The carrier has committed itself for a 10‑year period to the
    development and purchase of 75,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation
    fuel a year.
    KLM is celebrating its 100th Anniversary – to mark the occasion
    B787‑10 PH‑BKA (42892) had special “100 years” livery applied before
    delivery.
    KLM will be expanding its Indian network to include Bangalore at
    the end of October 2019, with the B787‑9. At the same time, services
    to Colombo will be suspended. Other service changes for India,
    effective from September 2019, are as follows:

  • Amsterdam – Delhi: 787‑9 replaced by following aircraft:
    02Sep19 – 29Sep19: 4 of 7 weekly operated by 777‑200ER
    30Sep19 – 26Oct19: 3 of 7 weekly operated by 787‑10
    Planned Boeing 777‑200ER/‑300ER service during winter 2019/20
    season, from 27Oct19, remains unchanged.

  • Amsterdam – Mumbai eff 26Sep19: Increase from 3 to 5 weekly.
    From 29Sep19 to 21Oct19, 1 of 5 weekly operated by 787‑10,
    replacing ‑9. Following schedule effective 27Oct19, as the
    frequency increase is maintained in W19

With the 787‑10 service to India moved forward to late‑September, the
previously planned 787‑10 service for the Amsterdam – Toronto route
between 29Sep19 and 25Oct19 has been removed.
KLM has released changes to its long‑haul operation for the
Northern winter 2019/20 season, effective from 27Oct19:



  • Amsterdam – Abu Dhabi: Planned 2 weekly A330‑300 and 3 weekly
    ‑200 expanded to entire winter season (Previous plan: 5 weekly
    A330‑200 10Dec19 – 19Jan20)

  • Amsterdam – Accra: 777‑300ER operation revised to from 5‑6
    weekly to 4 weekly (Day x135). 777‑200ER service operates 3
    weekly, instead of 1‑2 weekly

  • Amsterdam – Atlanta:
    KL621/622: 777‑200ER operates daily, except Day 2 operated by
