Star Alliance carriers LOT Polish Airlines and Turkish Airlines are

expanding their codeshare partnership, covering additional routes via

Istanbul and Warsaw. The new codeshare routes from 22May19 include

the following:

Turkish Airlines operated by LOT Polish Airlines:

• Warsaw – Brussels, Warsaw – Gdansk, Warsaw – Katowice, Warsaw

    From 14Apr20, Turkish Airlines will once again codeshare with ANA on

  Osaka Kansai – Tokyo Haneda
  Turkish Airlines has opened reservations for its Airbus A350‑900XWB
  aircraft, with the configuration of C32Y297. Initially, the A350 will
  operate following routes from April 2020, each once daily.

  Planned A350‑900XWB schedules remain subject to change.
  Turkish Airlines has removed all Boeing 737 MAX 8/9 schedule listings,
  previously listed from 27Oct19. The Star Alliance carrier has since re‑
  filed its Boeing 737 MAX 8 schedule, mainly serving Africa as well as
  selected domestic routes.

Uganda Airways [Uganda] will now commence its first commercial

flight in August 2019 as its AOC has yet to be granted.

Ukraine International Airlines [PS/AUI] [Ukraine] may switch from

the B737 MAX to Airbus aircraft as part of its long‑term fleet strategy.

The carrier may also adjust its 2020 delivery schedule to due to delays

in MAX deliveries.

The airline now expects a 5‑6% decrease in capacity for 2019 due

to the B737 MAX grounding.

Ukraine International Airlines has commenced a codeshare

partnership with Air Astana, covering the latter’s service between

Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The new codeshare routes from 06Jun19 are

as follows:

United Airlines [UA/UAL] [US] – United Continental Holdings (US)

became United Airlines Holdings on 28Jun19. The company will

continue trading under the UAL ticker.

United Airlines expects a strong summer 2019 performance in

China with expansion accelerating and out‑performing the market

average. It plans to resume growth in China to other cities and form a

joint‑venture with Air China. Guangzhou will most likely next join the

airline’s route map as the airline is looking to start San Francisco to

Guangzhou services and to agree a joint venture with Air China.

United Airlines is continuing to evaluate the A321XLR but this

doesn’t solve the B767 replacement issue, says CFO Gerry Laderman.

United Airlines decided to remove the B737 MAX from its flying

schedule until 03Sep19, leading to about 1,900 total flight

cancellations in August. It now expects to cancel more than 8,000

flights through to the end of October 2019 because of the grounding

of its B737 MAX planes and is dropping its 14 MAX jets from the

schedule until 03Nov19.

The carrier is extending the suspension of its flights from the US

to Delhi and Mumbai in India until 26Oct19, citing continued

restriction of Pakistani airspace.

United Airlines has signed an agreement to purchase 19 used

B737‑700s with deliveries expected beginning in December 2019.

Tunisair has introduced leased Airbus A330‑300 aircraft to support
its operation, with the configuration of C30Y277. The planned A330‑
300 operations are as follows:

Tunisair Express [Tunisia] will acquire three new ATRs to operate on
domestic routes and international routes to Malta and Italy. The first
will be delivered in August 2019.

Turkish Airlines [TK/THY] [Turkey] has leased 12 B737‑800s from
AnadolutJet (Turkey) to help migrate the lost capacity from the B737
MAX grounding. Turkish is also negotiating with Airbus for an earlier
A321neo delivery slot.
Turkish Airlines and Kuwait Airways have signed a codeshare
agreement.
The airline has signed an MOU with Cuba to strengthen the ties in
tourism and promote actions of mutual benefit to the two countries.
