Vimy G‑EAOU (cancelled as WFU 7th October 1920, flown from England
to Australia between the 12th November and 10th December 1919 by
brothers Ross & Keith Smith) is to be built at the Adelaide Airport
Terminal precinct in 2021 and the aircraft will be moved from its
current building some distance away, near where the old terminal was
located.CABOOLTURE, QUEENSLAND – DH.60M Metal Moth VH‑UQH [1685, the
former G‑ABHY and now marked as such] made its first post‑restoration
flight here on 8th April. It had been badly damaged by a cyclone at
Winning Pool Station, Western Australia in March 1953 and was acquired
by its current owner & restorer, Ed Field, around 40 years ago.MORWELL-LATROBE VALLEY, VICTORIA – Percival Proctor I VH‑UXS
[K.246, the former G‑AHFU] made its first post‑restoration flight from
here on 30th April. It had been stored at various airfields around
Victoria since the beginning of the 1970s.MURWILLUMBAH, NEW SOUTH WALES – Percival Gull IV VH‑CCM
[D.46, the former G‑ACUP] reflew on the 24th May following several
years on the ground.three years ago, but it has not yet become operational and city planners
have now had second thoughts, saying they want a fresh noise impact
assessment, a detailed plan in case of emergency and a bird
management policy in place before they consider extending permission
for the landing zone. It is estimated that the use of a helipad at the
Mater could save up to nine lives a year, and the hospital said that if the
helipad gets the go‑ahead, it would be for life or death use only.
