Don’t Get Sick...

Bad germs can’t make you
sick if they can’t get inside
your body. If they do get in—
through your mouth or nose,
for example—your body has
ways to stop them before they
make you sick.

Your skin surrounds your
body like a strong wall to
keep the bad germs out.

If you get a cut or scratch,
your blood has sticky bits that
clump together to stop the
bleeding and close the opening.
Then germs can’t get in.

Your blood looks red
because it contains red
blood cells. But it also has
white blood cells that
kill germs.
Your lips can
seal your mouth
up tight.
