satisfying touch, all the timber on show
came from parts of the barrel, in their
original steam-bent form. “The original
curves worked nicely,” says Russell.
The drivetrain
Things ramped up a gear with the
installation of the motor and the
electrics. The barrel racer boasts a
three-speed (plus reverse) 110cc engine
and a 12V ride-on lawnmower battery.
