AND YBHG DATIN HAJAH PATIMAH SIDEK.On a beautiful morning this early April,
held at the bride’s private residence in the
suburbs of Selangor, Malaysia, the couple
had their marriage ceremony attended by
family members, relatives, close friends, and
high-ranking religious officials. “We are very
delighted: our relationship of sacred love
can finally be united forever,” Syafiqua tells
Indonesia Tatler. The procession, however, had
started the previous day with the Henna night,
commonly called “Majlis Berinai”, at the bride’s
residence. Henna night plays an important role
in Malay traditional wedding rituals because in
the olden days, henna is thought to symbolise
the sanctity of marriage.
