Native New Yorker Jason Strauss is a well-
known veteran in the world of hospitality,
having 22 years of hands-on experience
in the industry
n 1997, jason strauss,
along with his partner,
Noah Tepperberg, founded
Strategic Hospitality Group,
a full-service marketing,
special-events, public relations,
and consumer promotions
company offering guests a premium
nightlife experience at various events
and venues.
Jason graduated from Boston
University with a Bachelor of Science
degreein communications and hospitality
management. Little did he know that
his career would soar through the skies
almost immediately.
In 2003, the duo opened Marquee
nightclub in New York City, which quickly
became one of the most famous and
respected clubs in the world and landed
the duo at the epicentre of the global
nightlife scene. Soon thereafter, the
duo partnered with TAO founders Marc
Packer and Rich Wolf to open TAO at
The Venetian in Las Vegas. What followed
after was a chain of restaurants and
nightclubs in New York, Los Angeles,
Chicago, and Australia.
The TAO Group made its Asia debut
in January 2018 with the opening of the
upmarket venues LAVO Italian Restaurantand Rooftop Bar in Singapore at the
acclaimed Marina Bay Sands. Coming up
this year, the TAO Group has opened three
entertainment and dining concepts also
within Marina Bay Sands—celebrated
nightlife concepts Marquee and Avenue,
followed soon by KOMA, a modern Japanese
eatery and sushi bar.
For their creative ideas and bold concepts,
Jason and Noah have received many awards,
including the Nightclub & Bar’s Hospitality
Operator of the Year Award in 2006 for
Marquee and TAO, named as “50 Most
Powerful People In Electronic Dance Music”
in 2013 and 2014 by In the Mix magazine,
listed as “Power 50 People in Dance Music”
by Billboard in 2018, and secured the number
15 spot in Rolling Stone magazine as “50 Most
