Sally Fitzgibbons and Stephanie Gilmore, who
contributed their efforts to their first shared
mission as part of Breitling’s squad. Kelly Slater,
arguably the most successful surfer of all time,
said he believes that keeping the ocean clean
is one of the biggest investments for ourselves
and for future generations.
“I believe that I can speak on behalf of the
entire Surfer Squad that beaches are, in effect,
our offices. What we have seen here and
on beaches and in oceans around the world
is shocking and I would like to spread this
positive message to everyone,” he said.
Australian surfer Sally Fitzgibbons shares
Kelly’s enthusiasm for the noble mission. She
noted that conservation is something that
she and the squad have always wanted to
do. “When you fall in love with surfing, it
automatically becomes something that you
care about. We have been surfing for more than
20 years now and we are blessed with really
clean, beautiful beaches in Australia. However,
travelling and seeing places, especially in Bali, I
realised I had to do something.”
“We hope that we can encourage people to
be more conscious about trash and waste, and
the importance of reduce, re-use, and recycle,”
Sally added.
Breitling’s CEO, Georges Kern, also spoke
about the union and how important raising

global awareness is. “This clean-up initiative in
Bali underscored the power of our partnership
with Ocean Conservancy. With the initial
launch of this collection, we want to add a
meaningful and incredible element to our
partnership and its global projects.”
Meanwhile, the CEO of Ocean Conservancy,
Janis Searless Jones, added that she is proud
for the collaboration and thankful that it
contributes to their important work to keep
plastic and trash out of the oceans.
