Baltimore Bride – July 2019

EDITOR’S LETTER

Janelle Erlichman Diamond
Managing Editor

W

elcome to the very first issue of Baltimore
Weddings magazine. I’ve been waiting a
very long time to say that. And it feels so good.
Our new name is finally reflective of who we
truly are: an inclusive wedding magazine focused
on our favorite city. But I would be remiss to not give
Baltimore Bride a proper farewell after 21 years. I’ve personally
worked on the magazine for 12 of those years, as managing editor since
2012, and I’m so proud of what we produced issue after issue.
But now we have a fresh start. And it’s not just with our name. We’ve
also used this opportunity to completely transform our website. (A huge
thank you to art director, Staci Lanham, for taking on this mammoth proj-
ect.) Our goal was straightforward: Keep it simple and locally focused.
Our new website—baltimoreweds.com—is beautiful, easy to navigate, and
super user-friendly, with search terms, editor’s picks, and a stress-free way
to save all your favorite stories, photo shoots, and weddings.
We’ve been concentrating on refreshing the pages of the magazine,
too. It feels lighter and brighter, with page after page of gorgeous photos
and fresh ideas. And it’s our first-ever food issue. We’ve delved into every
aspect of receptions in our “Be Our Guest” feature, from table settings to
cocktails inspired by florals to wedding food your guests will actually love.
As someone who had her wedding at a restaurant and continues to enthu-
siastically eat her way through Baltimore, this topic was near and dear
to my heart. But I actually love everything we covered in this issue, and I
hope you will, too.
Thanks for being a part of our something old (Baltimore Bride) and our
something new (Baltimore Weddings).
