uchess Meghan was perfectly
content to celebrate her 38th
birthday on Aug. 4 with a low-
key get-together at home in
Frogmore Cottage. But that wouldn’t
do for her husband, Prince Harry, who
surprised the duchess two days later
when he whisked her away to the Spanish
island of Ibiza for a lavish, hush-hush
family vacation.
The doting duke certainly pulled out
all the stops. The couple, along with son
Archie, flew out on a private jet, and “he
chartered a huge yacht, which came withinsider tells Star. The couple feasted on a
luxury picnic on board, and Meghan got
to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine for
the first time since Archie was born, the
source added. “They stayed in a gated,
$20,000-a-night Mediterranean villa
overlooking the ocean, where Harry
booked massages and spa treatments by
the infinity pool. In the evenings, they
enjoyed romantic candlelit dinners on the
terrace, including traditional tapas and
paella prepared by a Spanish master chef.”
Harry, 34, also gave Meghan a welcomebreak from her new-mom duties. “He
took Archie into the ocean for the first
time,” says the source, adding that the
3-month-old “loved splashing the water
around with his arms and legs. Meghan
thought it was hysterical.”
After six blissful days, the family
returned to London on Aug. 12, sun-kissed
and rested. “Meghan’s been telling pals
that it was the best vacation she’s had
in years,” says the insider. “After all the
night feedings, lack of sleep and running
around after a baby, it was just what the
doctor ordered for both of them.” ★SURPRISE!
