Printing Motifs to Printable Fabric
Scan the illustration from the book (or another of your choosing) using a standard scanner, preferably at a resolution of 300
dpi, to a scale of 1:1 (do not enlarge or reduce in size). You may also use copyright-free images available on the Internet.
Printable fabric is suitable for inkjet printers only. Place a sheet of fabric into the printer, select fabric characteristics and
orientation according to the material chosen. The sample shown in the pictures used a piece of fabric 8.5 x 11 in. It is impor-
tant to uncheck the “fit to page size” option so that the illustration won’t get enlarged or reduced. Now, print the picture onto
the fabric, and allow it enough time for proper drying afterward before handling. Remove the paper backing and rinse the
fabric under running water until the water stays clear and no more excess dye is being washed out. Let the fabric dry thorough-
ly and iron it carefully from the wrong side before proceeding according to instructions.

Print angel motif (below) onto printable fabric and cut it out with
sufficient seam allowance, which is already included in the 3 x 4.
in./7.5 x 10.5 cm size. Before printing, arrange as many motifs
as will fit onto one sheet of printable fabric. After printing, iron
fabric from the wrong side.
Fold cotton fabric, wrong sides facing inwards, into a 6.75 x 3.
in./17 x 8 cm rectangle and sew on angel motif.
Sew ribbon onto upper fabric fold line, forming a button loop from
the ribbon in the center.
Sew the pocket to the middle of the scarf’s garter stitch section, fol-
ding the seam allowance under at the sides.
Sew bobbin lace along the whole width of the scarf and at the bottom
edge of the pocket as well.
Decorate the pocket with beads. Sew the button onto the scarf. Care-
fully block the scarf into shape.
