Arm Warmer
With lace weight yarn and US 8 (5 mm) DPNs, cast on 36 sts, join
into round and divide evenly onto 4 DPNs.
Work in [k2, p2] ribbing for 1.5 in./4 cm.
Now, work in St st for 14 in./35 cm.
Change to US 6 (4 mm) DPNs and work [k2, p2] ribbing for 2.5
in./6 cm.
Work an eyelet row: [Yo, k2tog] to end of round.
Work in St st for 1.2 in./3 cm.
Change to light gray #8 pearl cotton thread and US 4 (3.5 mm)
DPNs. Now, double the stitch count by working [k1, yo] into
every stitch.

Finishing
For the crocheted edge, grasp 4 sts at once with a crochet hook
and sc4tog, then chain 6. [Sc4tog, ch6] to end of round.
Weave in all ends.
Th read a piece of stretchy velvet, twice as long as your wrist
circumference, through the eyelet row and seam the ends
together.
Using pearl crochet thread and crochet hook, make three one-
row three-dimensional crocheted fl owers (see page 61) with
chain-stitch stems in three diff erent lengths: 1 in., 2 in., and
3 in.
Position the woven jacquard ribbon, folded double, over the
seam of the velvet ribbon and attach the fl ower arrangement
to it, hiding the ends of the stems.
