Attach a snap closure at the center of the inside of
the top edge of the pouch.
Using crochet hook and pearl crochet thread, cro-
chet three large “Crocheted Beads” as described
on page 49.
Using crochet hook and pearl crochet thread in a
contrasting color, crochet a 14 in./35 cm long
chain and slip stitch back over the chains.
Sew crocheted bead onto one end of crocheted
chain. Draw crocheted chain through turned
under end of grosgrain ribbon, then sew a
second crocheted bead to the other end of the
chain to secure in place.
Sew woven jacquard ribbon along center of long
velvet ribbon, folding jacquard ribbon ends
under by 2 in./5 cm. Fold cut edges of velvet
ribbon under by 1 in./2.5 cm and sew on at
fold line, leaving the sides open for threading
crocheted chains later. Attach the little pouch
at one end as shown.
Sew the embroidered piece flush onto the velvet
ribbon, folding seam allowance under, at 10
in./25 cm upward from the end with the
pouch.
Decorate embroidery with beads.
Using Heart pattern, cut out and sew a small
heart.
Crochet a chain 9 in./22 cm long, reinforcing it
by slip stitching back over the chains, and sew
the heart onto this chain.
Thread crocheted chain through free end of velvet
ribbon and sew third crocheted bead to end of
chain. Knot the crocheted chain.
