Knotting Beads
Knotting beads individually in this manner is time-consuming, but well
worth the eff ort because it secures the beads and helps line them up
evenly.
Start by pushing the threaded needle up through the fabric from the
WS and through the hole in the bead.

Insert the needle straight down through the fabric from the RS, slight-
ly staggered from the initial point.
Directly in the initial point, stitch up through the fabric again from
the WS.
With the bead hole pointing sideways, wind the thread around the
needle as for a French knot, then reinsert the needle into the fabric
in the same spot.

Bead Flower
First, sew on the center bead twice and secure it by knotting as descri-
bed above.
Now, wrap the thread several times around the thread between the
bead and the fabric to create a “base” for the bead.
Th read 6 beads, wrap them around the shank you created, run your
thread through all 6 beads again for reinforcement, pull tight and
sew in tail.

Bead Cluster
For each stitch, thread 2 to 4 beads onto your needle and sew them on
tightly spaced (but not so tightly that they buckle).

Threading Beads for Knitting and Crocheting
Reinforce the beginning tail with liquid glue to create a “needle” that
can be used to thread beads directly.
