(top, left) John used black hardware to
accentuate the white cabinetry, which
reaches the top of the kitchen ceiling.
Meanwhile, a glossy backsplash,
copper lanterns and metal hardware
add a dash of glamour.

room past the sliding barn door.
The barn door is not only a staple of
farmhouse style, but also a functional
fit for outdoor lovers.
The couple worked with designer Sheryl
Parramore of Parramore Interiors during their
original design concept, and designer Lauren
Leonard of Lauren Leonard Interiors once the
construction phase of the project was complete.
FOR LOVE OF FAMILY
Throughout the process, the homeowners
worked to create a space where they could
share their life with loved ones, such as family
and close friends. “They see their family, their
children and grandchildren quite often,” John
says. “They love taking them kayaking or skiing.”
In addition to the garage apartment, the
home features several guest bedrooms and high
ceilings to create a spacious and welcoming
atmosphere. The entire first floor has 11-foot
ceilings, and the foyer spans two stories in
height. Meanwhile, the rooms on the second
story have 9-foot ceilings.
