While they’re practical for areas with harsh weather, they can be

used no matter the climate. “Even if you live in a temperate area,

you can use a mudroom as your go-to space for items that would

otherwise end up in the entryway or on the kitchen table, like

shoes and gym bags, purses and diaper bags, school flyers and

incoming bills,” says Victoria.

BRICK HOUSE

To tie the mudroom to the adjoining powder room, the team

installed Cherokee Brick flooring in both spaces. “Brick is a practical

flooring choice because it’s durable and easy to clean,” says

Victoria. “It also gives you options for the finish, whether you want

a cleaner, whitewashed look or a more rustic, exposed brick look.”

Not only does brick create a seamless transition between the two

spaces, but it also adds a level of charm. “We chose Cherokee Brick’s
line of flooring material as a perfect foil to the home’s post-and-
beam timber structure,” says Jeffrey. “Its timeless quality adds a sense
of history and place, and it’s extremely practical, as it shows no dirt
and is a material that only improves as it ages.”
Other materials, such as the barn siding wall in the powder room,
add a rustic touch and dimension. The Signature Hardware faucet is
fitted into the perfectly petite sink to match the room’s size, and the
country décor brings in the farmhouse charm we know and love.
