HAND TOOLS
Gardening is impossible without tools, and propagation gardening is no
diff erent. One thing to keep in mind is that mini gardening tools are your
friend. “Precision is key, so look for hand tools that are small, sharp and
can squeeze into tight spaces to place tiny seeds, snip excess seedlings or
transplant them gingerly,” writes Halleck. These mini tools include:
- Mini-transplanting tools, for making small planting holes and lifting seeds
and cuttings - Hand seeders, for collecting seeds that are small and hard to see
- Spray bottle, for properly watering seedlings and root cuttings
- Razor blade or sharp knife, for removing small root cuttings from the mother plant
