THIS IS DEFINITELYnotthe
column I thought I would be
writing at this point in the
year. I am gutted that my
AMA Supercross season came
to a premature end with five
rounds to go.
Unfortunately, my mistake
in the Main Event in Seattle
was costly and left me with
some pretty serious injuries,
including eight broken ribs, a
broken scapula and a
collapsed lung. We had made
great gains during the day
and I was excited for the Main,
especially hitting those
whoops for 20 minutes.
It wasn’t the way I wanted
the season to end, but I will be
back and I can assure you all
that my rehab is well
underway. While there is not a
lot of training I can do right
now I am already out on the

pushbike.Yes,myinjuriesstill
hurt but sitting around on the
couch waiting to heal hurts a
lot worse.
The best way to heal is to
get out and make the body
work again.
It was great to get back
trackside for round 14 last
weekend in Nashville,
Tennessee. The track looked
challenging and fun. I won’t
lie, it was tough to be a
spectator. I really enjoyed
being able to hang with my
VIPs, fans and friends and I
will be back at the track this

In reflecting on our
season, we made great
progress, six top-10 finishes
and a podium in Detroit
shows we were definitely on
the right path. The past few
weeks have been crazy busy.
It seems like everything
happens at once.
In-between doctor’s visits,
physio and existing work
commitments we went back
to Florida to pack up our
home ready for our next
adventure. Right now, we are
living in North Carolina close

andIhavesetmyselfthegoal
of trying to be ready for the
last round in Las Vegas at
Sam Boyd on 4 May.
It is too early to know if I
will make that goal but
having a goal gives you
something to strive for. You
never know, I may even race
some outdoors this year.
I want to send a huge
congratulations to the team
at AME Management. I am
proud of my friends there as
they are proof that big
dreams combined with hard
work pay off.
The AUS-X Open moving to
Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium
(above) in November is
massive and will allow the
event to grow even bigger.
Here’s hoping I get my invite
soon, that is one stadium I
would love to race in.
