Australasian Dirt Bike – June 2019

(backadmin) #1

JARROD BEWLEY
GRASSTRACK
I found it the best
bike here turning
on fl at, off-camber
turns as it just felt
really stable. The
fork and shock felt on the fi rm
side. It was the only bike that
really felt like a 300 when I jumped
on it. I loved the exhaust note, it’s
a very meaty and old-school, two-
stroke sound. I was very impressed
with the Sherco.
ENDUROCROSS
The engine felt really good and
perky. It made popping stuff really
nice. It felt really good all-round
on this track.
I was comfortable hitting any
obstacle at speed.
EXTREME ENDURO
Straight up it was impressive
for me, the power and drive on
the mellow map made it eat up
technical hills. With its really good
traction, it gave me confi dence
to change up my lines and tackle
harder options that I wasn’t doing
on the other bikes.

JOHN PAYTEN
GRASSTRACK
I really liked the
Sherco, I found it
got plenty of drive. I
tried both maps but
stuck to the Hard
one. The only time I’d use the Soft
map is for really slippery going.
ENDUROCROSS
I liked how light and nimble the
Sherco felt on the endurocross
track. I had some really enjoyable
laps on this bike.
EXTREME ENDURO
All day I had been thinking the
Sherco was great but on the
extreme track I really struggled
to get up hills. I just couldn’t get
the rear-end to fi nd the traction I
needed.

OLLY MALONE
GRASSTRACK
This was my
favourite engine
on the grass. It’s
a screamer that
always felt very
powerful. The riding position I
found a little different, as the ’peg-
to-bar area was a bit cramped for
my lanky frame. The brakes were
really strong and the suspension
felt fi rm so it did kick me around
a little bit.
ENDUROCROSS
I got worn out very quickly riding
the Sherco here. The clutch felt
heavy and the spiky handgrips
took it out of my soft offi ce hands.
The suspension was fi rm. It didn’t
do anything wrong, just took a lot
of my energy.
EXTREME ENDURO
I really struggled with the Sherco
on the extreme. It was just too
fi rm and too much engine. It was
the most tiring for me and when I
get tired things get diffi cult. If the
suspension was softer, I’d be a lot
better on this bike.

AARON VINCENT
GRASSTRACK
The Sherco had
great power, really
strong. I just
struggled a little bit
with the suspension
as it was a little fi rm. This made it
a little hard for me to hold a line.
ENDUROCROSS
The Sherco performed really well
for me on the endurocross track.
It felt nice and light with good,
strong power that made it easy to
lift the front wheel over obstacles.
I’d be splitting hairs if I had to
choose between the Sherco and
KTM for endurocross.
EXTREME ENDURO
Overall the Sherco was a very
good package here. I ran it on the
Soft map and found I could put it
anywhere with a very predictable
feeling. The suspension was fi rm
but didn’t defl ect off anything.
