What are your hobbies?
Travel, cooking, needlepoint.
Who is/was your role model, and why?
Kerby Confer and Donald Alt. Although I don’t know her
well, I really admire Erica Farber and I have followed her
work since the early ’90s.
What are you reading right now?
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and How We
Got to Now by Steven Johnson.
What’s your favorite movie, and why?
The Nightmare Before Christmas. The music and the art-
fulness of the work are dramatic and addictive.
What’s your favorite TV show, and why?
I love Madam Secretary and Parks and Recreation. I feel
like a mashup of Secretary Elizabeth McCord and Leslie
Knope.
What’s your favorite podcast (other than a radio pod-
cast)?
Dinner Party Download.
Twitter handle?
I had a Twitter account for a brief moment but deleted
it. I don’t like people “following” me. Kind of creepy.
Instagram?
Nope.
Who are the three most interesting people you know
(outside your family), and why?
Jason and Anna Malone, our best friends for many years
and the magic behind our Alexa skills and other innova-
tions.
David Taylor, our chief creative officer. A genius. A
visionary.
JC Burton, our chief programming officer. Brilliant.
Dedicated. Insightful and kind.
If you had 30 minutes, a tape recorder, and your choice,
who would you interview, and why?
I don’t know — you’ll have to download my new podcast,
Let’s Be Frank, to find out.
What station did you listen to as a kid?
WBBQ in Augusta, Georgia.
What three apps do you have on your phone that would
surprise people?
Other than all our station apps, I don’t have that many
and none that would be surprising. Except maybe my
Kroger app. I am a coupon fiend and I hoard rewards
points.
Do you listen to Pandora or Spotify?
Yes. I research music using Pandora by creating stations
around artists. My favorite Pandora station is Duke
Ellington Radio.
Your most embarrassing career moment?
Losing $25,000 on a concert arrangement in Rome,
Georgia. It was a disaster, and my boss was very gracious
when I told him. As I was begging for my job, he said,
“Did you learn a lesson?” Yes, sir,” I said. “Then why
would I fire you? I just paid for your $25,000 lesson.”
What one goal has eluded you?
A fully staffed, trained sales team, all succeeding at the
same time. Impossible? A girl can dream, right?
Most proud career achievement so far?
Achieving balance in my life with my work and my fam-
ily.
When you die, what will people say about you?
I would hope they would say I inspired them to do their
best work and live their most joyful life.
