a milestone race, it being the 1,000th Formula 1 World
Championship race, not counting the 11 Indy 500 and 15
Formula 2 races in the 1950s.
Valtteri Bottas secured his seventh pole, but it was his
teammate, Lewis Hamilton, who took victory. Lewis has now
won 75 races, 16 away from equalling the total of F1 legend Michael
Schumacher’s all-time record. In addition, the Brit led the race from the
outset. The result continued showcasing Mercedes-AMG’s dominance
this season with a third consecutive one-two.
