SQ5 TDI ― the one that startedit all.
The big changeis the adoption of the 48-
voltelectricalsystem,whichenables the use
of an electricallypoweredcompressor (EPC)
to eliminateturbo-lag― a feature earlier
seen on the SQ7 TDI. The EPC can respond in
250 millisecondsand spin up to 70,000 rpm.
Accordingto Audi’s officialcommunication,
the 3.0-litreV6 biturbounit makes347 PS at
3,850 rpm and a peak 700 Nm between
2,500 and 3,100 rpm in the S5 models.In the
S6 and S7 models,it makes349 PS at the
samerpmwithanidenticaltorqueoutput.in
bothcases,themild-hybridfunctionalityis
boostedbya belt-alternatorstarteranda
10-Ahlithium-ionbattery.it can provide up
to 7.0 kW (9.5 PS) and 60 Nm of
supplementary output up to 1,650 rpm,enable start/stop operation as low as 22
km/h, and coasting for up to 40 seconds with
the combustionengineturnedoff. The real-
worldfuel-savingsareupto0.4litres.
however,thestdimodelsofthes6 and
S7 are not for every market;being mostly
fortheeuropeanmarket,amongsome
others.theusA and many markets in the
Asia-Pacific region will get these models
powered by the 2.9-litre V6 TFSI motor from

The Crewemarquecalls it “the world’sfirst
luxuryhybrid”.it usesa 3.0-litrev6 turbo-petrol
incombinationwitha 94-kwelectricmotorand
a 17.3-kWhbatterypack. The V6 petrolengine,
fromwithinthevwgroup,makes 340 Ps and
450 Nm. The electricmotor,or E-Drive, adds up
to 128 PS and 350 Nm. The peak combined
systemoutputis 449 PS and 700 Nm. An eight-
speedautomatictransmissionhandles power
deliverydutiestotheall-wheel-drive system.
Althoughit weighsin at 2,626 kg for the five-
seat version,it can achieve0-100 km/h in a
claimed5.5 secondsand go up to a top speed
of 254 km/h. The rated Co2 outputis 124 g/km
while the efficiencyis a claimed21.2 km/l.
